The 3D Collaborator and the stand-alone 2D/3D AutoCAD© DWF viewer are applications built in .NET 3.0 WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) that renders AutoCAD© DWF 2D and 3D drawings. The 3D Collaborator is a Smart Client application for SharePoint 2007. It facilitates collaboration through SharePoint 2007 and allows the user to visualize and annotate their work in 2D and 3D.
The application is a Collaborative Client application where the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) is use to view and annotate AutoCAD© DWF 2D and 3D drawings.
In the 3D Collaborator versions, this application allows you to annotate on the surface of those AutoCAD© 
DWF drawings. The annotations are persisted in a file system, a SQL server Database or SharePoint 2007. With it's annotation capability it allows the user to attach annotations in the form of documents, SharePoint discussions or URLs to the exact selected spot on the AutoCAD© DWF drawing.
In the SharePoint 2007 version, the application leverages the collaborative environment of SharePoint 2007 and provides data in the context of the project not in the context of its storage. It is a feature rich application that allows users to drag and drop data into the context of the project. The WPF Smart Client then handles the display & annotations of the underlying storage.
